Read full description of the books:
For the young adult genre, "Cougar Chase" is a winner. Books like this are what kids should be reading!
12-year-old Josh Landis recently moved to the High Sierras in California, from Washington D.C. The new lifestyle is something he's still getting used to, along with adjusting to his new step-dad.
There are so many aspects I enjoyed:
1) The thrilling adventure of trails to be hiked, cliffs to be climbed, and a threatening cougar to be hunted.
2) The amazing respect shown towards animals of all species, whether cougars, deer, bears, or spiders.
3) The belief in God shown vividly throughout the story. Prayer works! Miracles happen!
At one point, Josh and his friend, Ashley, completely disregarded their parents' rules. They knew it was disobedient, but went ahead with their plan nonetheless. I think that's really the only thing I didn't quite approve of.
I'm hoping to read more books by this author. Can't wait to explore more of the High Sierras!

Sierra Club leader Michael Brune said the book "challenges us to save not just our world but our humanity.:"
Nesbit's previous book with St. Martin's Press, POISON TEA, was well-received by critics. The New York Times called it a "refresher course in Civics 101." Pulitzer Prize winner Elizabeth Kobert said: "Poison Tea is compelling, richly reported, and utterly chilling."
In addition to his non-fiction work, Nesbit has also written more than 20 inspirational novels with Tyndale, Zondervan, Thomas Nelson, Guideposts, Summerside Press, David C.
